Description
The 6-week courses will offer both asynchronous (learning on your own schedule) and synchronous (2-3 times where everyone logs on together) learning opportunities. Total time investment is an estimated 6 to 10 hours per week.
F&ES 738 Himalayan Diversities: Environment, Livelihoods, and Culture
Instructor: Alark Saxena (‘07 M.E.M., ‘15 Ph.D.)
A certificate course that will examine the vast geographical, biological and cultural diversity of the Himalayan region. This course aims to provide deeper and integrated understanding of this region, its current challenges, and solutions for long term sustainability.
F&ES 683 Tropical Forest Restoration in Human Dominated Landscapes
Instructors: Gillian Bloomfield (‘10 M.F.S.), Eva Garen (’97 M.E.M., ‘05 Ph.D.), Mark Ashton (’85 M.F., ‘90 Ph.D.)
A certificate course on the science, management efforts, and policies governing forest restoration in tropical regions, with a focus on tropical Asia and Latin America.
